Forgotten more than most ever know

Vegard, I hate to disagree but all A series bearings are not the same. They have same ID/OD dimensions but I have come across inner races that did not fit the outer race. Naturally this was found out when trying to hammer the clutch cover in situ. The bloody thing would not seat properly. We are talking about genuine 60´s bearings. Nowadays there is little to choose from, only one option.

Having said that, I have not had any problems with n/a version.

You're not mixing 3sync into the picture are you? I know that 3sync are slightly different in some ways, but never found 4sync to have small differences.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

Doubt that, that car I used to swap engines into was a 1969 MG1300 and I had 2 1300 engines in parts. Both had 4-synchro boxes. However I am not sure whether they still had original components. It is quite possible that the clutch cover or housing or whatever was from an older variant.
