The easiest way is as described above. Just assemble what you have. That is press fit the gudgeon pin through the rod. All 998 gudgeon pins are the same external diameter, the difference is in the little end internal diameter. so everything fits everything. The only thing you can't do is fit slipper pistons to floating rods. The reason for this is obvious, as the slipper piston has no skirt and a short gudgeon pin with no way of retaining it. And just to confirm what Sprox said, yes 998 rods come in floating and no-floating varieties. Edited by Scudy23 on 10th Nov, 2012. |

Well for ease of assembly/diss-assembly I have floating rods. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

I have my eye on a set off 998 rods and pistons on the bay, the pistons on them are floating so at a guess id say the rods are too so will wait to see what they go for. |

I have several boxes of Vandervell bushes for the little ends of 998 rods if anyone needs some for converting or refurbing purposes. Metric is for people who can't do fractions. |

The 998 rods you have there i think are the earlier type, the rods that came out of my 998 the pistons were press fitted.
