carb cleaner is much better for tracing leaks, as revs will rise better than with WD.

Just dont spray too much where it can get sucked into the air filter and give a misleading rise.

speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

I always use the mpi gasket they seem great quality.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Mate at NWMC had same problem with turbo manifold gasket at weekend, now ordered an mpi one.
The gasket was brand new and leaked :( mini hadn't been run for 18 months due to presumed blown piston which turned out to be just the head gasket.

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve
MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

In the garage......again!!

He's a lucky lad, could have been much worse. Tell him to get his finger out and get it back on the road, 18 months is far to long to be stuck in a garage covered up, under a blue weather sheet, on casters :).

What you have to remember is twats on ebay put 'Turbo' in their adds to make the item seem special. When it's really a POS.

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

It never rains but pours, putting the manifold gasket on today and managed to strip a manifold stud ffs,was wondering if anyone has used these before from minispares as im a bit sick of the shittty monkey metal that most of them are made from nowadays.

I must admit I change the studs and nuts everytime I have had the head off...

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

they looked pretty decent when i started, i think they have only been tightened twice previous so thought they would go back no problem. What studs are you using, just the standard ones?.

Are these a bit OTT
