The needle valve is fucked.

Its been a while since I had a HIF carb appart until last weekend, and I had to ask Turbo Phil if the point on the needle valve should have a ridge in it. Phil said it shouldn't.

We removed needle valve and seat from another carb. That had a ridge too but no where near near as bad, and the important thing it sealed off the fuel properly.

There should be no fuel trickling out of the jet at all. Replace the needle valve and seat, and double check the float condition and height. The float shouldnt have any fuel in it.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Right well I have inspected the floatchamber the brass nut that stops fuel coming in was loose tightened up and adjusted float, tried it on the car there was no fuel coming out with dash pot removed, however after about a minute fuel started trickling out , is this because it does t completely stop it?float didn't look like it was split

Sorted now, just need to do the timing and mixture, but that'll have to wait for a while

Thanks everyone
