The fuel pumps on its own switch separate from the ecu... This is the crank oscilloscope

Thanks chaps rich

What type of crank trigger wheel have you got on this as that scope looks very odd, suggesting the crank trigger set up is where your problem lies.

Check the sensor gap is no larger than 1mm. Also check that the sensor is wired correctly in the first instance since some ECU's can still work with the wiring inverted, all be it not very well. Perhaps the sensor shat itself and you struggling to start it previously was a sign that it was about to.

Compare your picture to the one in the DTA manual here http://dc391.4shared.com/doc/sGh-SZV5/preview.html and you'll see the difference. Having said that, your ECU is already telling you it doesn't recognise the trigger, and will be the reason why it's not sparking, since it doesn't know when to fire the coils.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Lol Oli that's what I've tryed for the last 2 weeks!

It's an med trigger wheel/ pulley with there bracket, I did check the gap at 0.40 but will be wiring it the other way around this evening and I also have the other sensor that was supplied with the dta (I'm using the one that came with the med bracket)

Thanks for all the help, ill let you know how I get on later :)

Cheers, rich

Getting somewhere now, took the sensor out and it did have metal filings on it, also switched the wires around on the vr sensor and voila it's sparking and trying to start. This is the crank oscilloscope now

Going to give the plugs a quick clean and gap and try again

Thanks :) rich
