Rich, did you ever run the car with the sensor un-powered?

Googling shows this can wreck it, can you borrow another one to try with the controller?

Nial.

No Nial never got as far as firing it up, the sensor needs the heater calibrating first and then a free air calibration. All before you start the engine. Was also very careful with the sensor, it's not been dropped or thrown against the wall in disgust lol

Well I ordered my vems wideband with EGT, the other afternoon and it arrived the next day within 24 hours (TNT).
Fitted it today after one question to sprocket, to check it was ok to not use the EGT part of the gauge. Then 6 wires to connect the gauge to the lambda plug, already with connectors fitted, so just push them into the numbered slots in the plug, following the enclosed diagram. One 12 volt power connection and one earth wire. And bingo works fine and the afr in my garage is between 19.8 and 20.4. Used the same connection on the fuse box and exactly the same point for earth, that I'd used with the innovate.

Would recommend this to anyone, a bit more expensive than the innovate. But works straight out the box, unlike the innovate shite.........

yeah, its fine to use without the EGT, in fact you can configure it so the start up read out is somthing else like ambient temp, or cycle through with the button.

Didn't know that cheers joe, I'm gonna use the EGT just need to make a boss to fit it. Then decide where it's gonna go, from the reading I've done. Looks like my best options in the LCB's collector. Not as accurate but surely, your looking for the temp difference between different settings anyway ? So shouldn't really matter, unless comparing it with other cars temps.

Press the XD-16’s button
three times. “CAL” will begin flashing on the XD-16
display. Press the XD-16’s button one more time to confirm the
Free Air Calibration command; “CAL” will no longer flash and the
XD-16 will send the command to the LC-1

?

I just did this today and problem sorted - all working fine

Remember, you must remove the lambda sensor from the exhaust and hang it in free air first

[ the original issue was caused by one of the connectors on the wire between LC-1 and XD-16 coming loose while the unit was powered up]
