The issue with Paul Wigginton's car is that it stricly isn't a Mini; it's a fiberglass kit car that weighs 400kg, it just happens to look a bit like a Mini.

Shouldn't be in the class IMO.

Road classes should be steel shelled minis only, plastic panels fine, but steel structure.

leeds/wakefield.

Will , i would not say that out loud to paul ,he will most prob rip your head off as it is indeed a steel shell sprint.i'm not having a go but he was apprenticed at Aston Martin panal beating.

he performed the sprint chop on my good friend John Haston's car to good effect,
also Gav wakelys roadster is one of pauls creations..

Sorry Wil but is all steel...chopped and welded by his very skilled hand......

Hand rolled aluminium bonnet and boot...he works for Aston Martin!

is he running nos?? I was watching him run, what ever he was running without a doubt he had the fastest gear changes I saw / heard. Impressed me! with those times it would not shock me if he was running nos, but as he works for aston martin, he can't be short of a few quid, so could have silly money in the engine.

Lovely looking car in either way, nice bloke too, had a chat with him a few times.

Well I went up and tapped it and it felt like fiberglass to me.

And the gutter around the roof was very strange. Not like a steel gutter, more like how you would have to make it if it was made of fiberglass.

I could be wrong though. And yes he is abig fella.

I don't remember tapping that one Wil, are you sure you are talking about the same car?

Just for the record even though its not a turbo:
My 17.148 was......

60ft...2.538secs
8th....63.44MPH
8th....10.87secs

crossing the line at 77.04MPH

Could have nudged into the 16s if the clutch wasn't slipping.....
