How about drilling some holes in the rocker cover. That should lighten it quite a bit.

If you're looking at competing with the likes of the DON or Paul Wigintons car you'll need to do more than drill a few holes in the subframs or replace a few bolts

Not the point I was making. If you don't know where to look to loose that weight, you need to 'think outside of the box'

For example...... and I'm only going to throw a couple examples at you....... outer CV joint, counter bore the centers...... Tubular driveshafts.......

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

How about lets give the chap some advice on how to lighten his car rather than take the piss out of him/knock him. After all, he did ask for advice to begin with.....

He isn't taking the piss he is giving him very very useful information for lightening his mini. I recived the same from paul w in a conversation we had a while back, took another 3kg off that evening.

I applied the same principles to my metro, it is under 800kg now and still is full steel with glass all round. I still can use fg parts and plastic windows.

I saw F415dda 's mini at coombe , was very impressed with the weight saving but sprocket is right I also looked at madmk1 's mini at riv run , every nut & bolt was either drilled or titanium , both have different ways of saving weight but if you combine them I'm sure you would be one of the lightest !

Still overall top car F415dda. Was very impressive *smiley*

I also saw it at Combe, although I can appreciate the cost and time gone into this build, It just isn't my cup of tea, But, each to their own!
