Why? It's the lay gear that are worn. The clue to it's condition was in the description - suitable for rebuilding.


I think I will resell the box and buy the right box, it serves me right trying to save a few pounds.

You need to modify the floor when fitting a remote gearbox to a rod car - the hole in the tunnel needs moving backwards by about ½" and you need to fabricate mounts for the gearlinkage.

I'm interested if you decide you can't or don't want to use it.

Metric is for people who can't do fractions.
