Need to take some... I will do when the calipers are connected...

Then I just need to clean up the old gear *wink*

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

oh balls, I need some custom spacers....

KAD have agreed to send me some.. so good customer services, I just wish I had tried to fit the pads last weekend. Stopped play for 1.5mm

FFS....

The new good ridge hoses are too deep to accept the hard brake lines... Shouldn't purchased from EBay... Order some more from Minisapres.

On a different note the new spacers from KAD have done the job. after some selective use of the three different type of spacers and washers the callipers are a close to centre as possible, within 0.20mm. So pads installed.

Need some more hoses and I can finish them off I hope it worth it.

One hose will be deeper than the other, have you checked both?

I can see why you would say that, but I am unaware of any difference (runs to check) and I have fitted at least 4 pairs of these. Could I have been that lucky? then why can I not win the lottery...... lol

well wouldn't you know it..... http://minispares.com/product/Classic/Brak...k%20to%20search

so now i know where all my luck went.........

yep I checked they are both the same, I guess these have been put togther by someone thinking they will fit becasue the fittings have the correct thread.... rather than fitting the vechile in question..

Sprocket, you may have used longer tube nuts if you've made you own pipes up, in which case they'll probably work if you had a pair of non-specific hoses with deeper threads on both sides.

now I'm confused the new hoses from minispares have arrived and they are both the same, so no smaller one. They both have the same part number and are identical to the ones from ebay except for the fact that they come with copper washers for the calliper end.

I didn't have time to call Minispares and ask why they are the same...

so maybe a trip to Demon Tweeks for some copper pipe and unions to make up a new link pipe....

This brake upgrade for what should be a simple job is becoming a PITA.

I'm pretty sure that the oem and the copper replacement front to front brake line i have both have the longer nut on them.

Like i said, i was unaware there was any difference but the minispares description threw a spanner in that line of thought.

I've had to cut the banjo bolts down on mine as I've split my front circuit at the bulkhead and don't have the splitter thingy above the driver's side brake hose where it pops through the subframe.

ok I'm the dick.
The hoses on the minispares website seem to look different on the outside, however they are not. One is drilled deeper than the other... So I'm the dick.

So I have a new set for sale that have done zero miles.

Ok brakes are fitted and bled, and bled again oh and then again.

TBH the pedal doesn't feel as good as the fiesta setup... I need to bed them in and see how we go... but so far I'm not sure they feel any better. I have had to open a lot of lines so I also want to leave it a bit and make sure that all of the joints are ok.

get them bedded, the fibry top layer of the new pad (some look like a fooking carpet!) can ad a lot of squishyness

my brakes went from being right at the bottom to riget at the top after bedding in... but I do have biig caliper pistons

Also, wedge the pedal down overnight and then bleed them again. They usually get a bit firmer.

I have left the car for 2 days and let everything settle. I jacked the back up made sure the shoes were adjusted and re- power bled the system. I got some more small air bubbles out and I now had the same firm pedal that I had with the old brake setup.

I need to see how it feels on the road and bed the brakes in, then I can see how the perform.

well I word springs to mind Squeak...

Thos pads are noisy. Speaking to KAD its because you have to give them a good spanking to stop the squeaking

Ah! Are they mintex pads?
Those thick stickers are usually quite effective.
I have previously chamfered the leading edge of the pad with a file to good effect - usually by the time they've worn past the chamfer the pad has settled down.
