Fab, was not meaning to sound funny...the block was 100% stripped,all core plugs out and hot wash dipped by a specialist, all you can see in the pic the the rough casting that has surface rust.

I saw that core plugs have been changed, I though that the white/ orange thing behind were should be a water pump was rust and calcaire deposit, which would have turned your engine as a very hot one . It was difficult to see what it really was.

i dont suppose you have the spi flywheel lying around so that you can take a picture of how the trigger teeth are, im just intrigued by it

looking good in my unexpert eyes of building engines

From memory, I don't think the SPI cars use a trigger wheel and conventional crank sensor, instead they have a magnetic reluctor ring that a different type of sensor picks up.

Not sure if it would be possible to make use of this to drive an aftermarket ecu, I'm a hammer and spanners man so I'll leave that little conundrum to one of you whizz bang computer/software types.......

err basically a photo of the back of the flywheel
