I am surprized that no one has really thought why there are very few ignition maps freely available.

What I am trying to say here is that many people have spent a lot of money on dyno time to get the best from their set up. To then freely publish this so that anyone can use it, might seem generous, but sometimes small companies take advantage of it to make a lot of money out of it without really doing anything.

Now there is nothing wrong in asking for a base map, and there is nothing wrong with someone giving that information, but you will not likely find that information freely available unless it is generic in nature, which means it'll still need dyno tuning.

As for the previous comments on "Just use the R5 map" this to me an indicator of carelessness, or it could just be lazzynes, I'm not sure (they have your money either way). Looking at the 'R5' map it could see some peoples engines to an early grave. so the suggestion by the manufacturer should highlight their carelessness, but I doubt many will notice until it's to late :(

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

The converter is now ready :)

Get it in version 1.7 of EZ Tune.. now you cna run any MJ map you like :)

the image below is just the debug console I used whilst developing the converter. The actual system in V1.7 is menu driven... open the Megajolt file, then it asks: If you want to send it down (if connected) or if you want to save the newly converted file as a *.nodiz file for sharing/later use.

If you download V1.7, then goto 'Import MJ map' in the file menu it will first stretch the RPM and LOAD cells, then fully interpolate the map to fill the blanks.

Its an algorithm though so although it has worked thus far, be sure to just check the cells after for common sense...

Also, you can now press 'backspace' on one or more selected cells and enter a value manually rather than using Q & W to fine tune when running.

This software is only for the updated 5500+ serials NODIZ, so you wont be able to send the file down if you have an older NODIZ, HOWEVER you can SAVE the generated file (it asks if you want to) then open it with your previous version.

I will try and knock up a quick standalone converter if its wanted?

Any other requests?

We have been VERY busy working on the ME442 ECU, hence NODIZ hasnt had the attention, but seriosuly guys, saying that a feature no other system has (namely importing other systems maps) as a bad point is a bit extreme! Its there now though, by popular demand!

Further, I can always be reached by email, or by phone if needed, and I have helped people out at 11pm on a Sunday several times! So becuase I dont check forums (hundreds of them discuss nodiz) does not mean I dont care, just that I havent been told :)

Get it here:
http://motorsport-electronics.co.uk/index....n-only-ecu.html

Note IF you have a WHITE PLUG nodiz I can update it for you free of charge but will need the unit sent in, email me for details.. Then it will work directly with V1.70 of EZ-Tune. The difference between the two (older units with serials less than 5500) have an older comms system which is not compatable with new (V1.5 and above) versions of EZ-Tune. It adds some more overdwell protection, and multi cell map editing, but otherwise is essentially the same.
Cheers
Matt

I've only recently bought a nodiz why is my serial number 5039, have you sent me an old unit?

The serial number is based on the bluetooth module, You bought yours 4 months ago the change over was approx 2 months ago. If yours has the 5500 firmware then it is in the cross over.

:)

We dont stock 'old units' :)
