at least I know what caused the issue.

the crank looks ok, there is a mark at the rear I can just feel it with my finger nail, but its only small.

you live a learn, won't do that again..

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Ok I have check the tooth count and it's a 24 tooth 1275 primary.
My old 998 is a 24 tooth. When I rebuilt the box I used the gears that came with it so now I'm worried if the drop gears could be different. This is on an A Series remote box

So on the older stuff would the drop gears be different? As it looks like the box was from a non mini 1275 a series engine as the remote connection was the side mount type.
I guess the question is can I use a 24 tooth 998 primary? Or is it an engine out job?

Ok after some searching, it looks like a 998 A series primary with fit the A series drop gears from a 1275 box, unless the info I have read is balls. So hopefully I can put this to bed when I get the new parts...

well I went for some mixed miles driving today to see if everything it ok. I all seemed good did about 1 hour of 70 mph and then through town to make sure cooling is ok.

I think the map needs a little work but its beyond me.... the differences from the road and the rollers.

gear change feels good and I gave it some revs. Had some fun with a few cars too :)
