journal turbos shouldent need a oil flow restriction ok, so its either the turbo oils seals being dodgy or it is the oil drain? it would be one of these? just so you have a bit more of an idea it only started leaking when it was up to temp :/ |

I dont think this is due to the drain, I would say its mor likly to be the oil inlet weeping and its draining down, or the gasket/seal behind the compressor backing plate is leaking.... it shouldnt, the turbo is off, ive checked the feed and there is no leak. checked the oil drain and also no leak. its coming from the core itself and seeping past the exhaust turbine. |

get one one there, beg borrow or steal!! winter surfur on here was pauged with smoking issues despite 50lb oil pressure... eventually the gauge was swapped and it turned out he was ru nning about 90 psi! Ahhhh nice :L I've just ordered all the bits to connect it up One of the boys said he was running about 80psi with no problems, so I didn't think it would be that, I'll get it connected and report back, never know it might be a pressure problem Edited by coopdog on 8th Sep, 2014. |

TBH, given the amount of oil you see externally, if it was coming from inside the turbine area I would have to say it would be impossible for it not to be smoking when the engine is running. 9.85 @ 145mph
