It's does seem weird they wouldn't show him testing the bike , and they kept saying how low budget it all was . I would say time was an issue and pre planning things didnt happen - hence fixing it in a car park . Still really good TV but shame it wasn't running right .

100% agree as well. Why take a bike over to the states and not at least test it on a UK track. Yeah they might not be the same as PP but will give you a good idea if you can use full throttle or not!! Im sure the whole show would have been set out months/year in advance, so the deadline wasn't really a suprise.

Would love to see a GoPro video onboard going up the hill. *smiley*

I love watching Guy and his shows, they are without exception always interesting which you can't say about the usual fucking dirge or dancing and talent fecking shows.

BUT, last night annoyed me a bit, just because personally I would not even contemplate taking a bike all the way to the USA without running the fucker on a dyno and a test trackday first to make sure it was right. To me a little bit more prep and the thing could have been running right and would have been even better.

From searching google the bike was tested in the uk.
Do you honestly think a man like guy martin (a perfectionist) would take an unfinished bike all that way for nothing?

Bear in mind that it was working at sea level in the uk, not at the starting point of 9300 feet above it, and ending at 14000 ft!

Less air, more fuel wont run anything...

However the empire he drove at SW is a nice bit of kit, pity they never used Scotty Morans Gould *happy*

I think you mean vehicle for 2 people, as any bike has two wheels.

Wonder why he was trying to put "more" fuel in then in the episode?? What he needed was a wideband! lol

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I believe the turbo bike has been a long term project for him, not just a stunt for the show. As such, I would say there's no way he would have done it without testing.

If it was rich enough to missfire, everyone would know it, you get black smoke before it missfires.

The fact that he was feathering the throttle and the engine lacked powe would suggest it was lean.

The SC ECU has a barometric sensor built in, but then of course the fuel corrections need to be set correctly, which is the real problem.

I'm pretty sure Guy and his mate knew exactly what the problem was but between them, couldn't figure out which bit to tweek, the counter intuitive nature of the thing wouldn't be helping. In my opinion.
