If you still question the accuracy of (A) because you don't have calibration gas, this argument applies to all controllers and you may as well throw them all in the bin.

Absolutely and I guessed you would ask that question.

My answer would start with, who uses a controller that actually uses the Bosch factory calibration resistor rather than requiring a "free air" calibration.

(I must stress I don't know what AEM use, I only know mine use the factory calibration, they have the option of free air but that is only recommended for old sensors).

You have shown quite clearly what others on the web have said that the AEM standard 0-5V doesn't match their digital.

I base my assumptions on the guys who design and write the code for the controller, the code for the digital interface, and the code for how it is displayed in the end product (ECU and remote displays in my case).

I haven't actually done a comparison with the analogue outputs - put that on my list of more things to test - but I have enough trust in the people who wrote the three bits of code involved in the process that the digital readings will be correct.

You demonstrate (as others on the web) that AEM didn't get the analogue bit right, so why should anyone have confidence in the digital bit ???

Very good information in those links, but bare in mind that they're all close to a decade old, so may not give a relevant picture of the brands today.

Agreed, and presumably they will all be on 0-5V inputs, not digital that is possible now.

I don't think we have a major disagreement, I just don't think there is enough data to be sure.

DO NOT BUY a 14Point7 controller until there's a reseller in UK / Europe. I bought mine straight from 14Point7 in Canada and the process was unnecessarily painful.

OK, I'm now going to have to agree.

I thought he had got his act together but he clearly hasn't.

Some parts were supposed to be sent to Jean and some to me to do some testing - I have all the emails saying which would be sent to me and which to Jean - and he eventually just sent everything to Jean despite me paying paying for one set of parts to be sent to me in the UK.

He might be clever at programming but he clearly has no idea of customer service whatsoever.

Interesting thread Stevie, I've not come across that forum before.

I've seen Alan's write-ups on calibration gases vs free air before and I totally agree with him - that's why I'm trying to use and support his products, I think they are probably the most accurate available in the budget to mid range part of the market - but he has some sort of death wish when it comes to running a business.

He has totally screwed up (again) on what he agreed to send where on my latest order and the email he sent me last night is NSFW for me to copy here.
