No exhaust paste, a modified clamp, and a clamp at the base of the downpipe (just like the metro) and I never have a leaking downpipe.

impressive cad drawing dave.

I took my turbo off the other day. It's the 1st time I've done it since I've had my new stainless downpipe fitted. I leave the downpipe fixed to the turbo, and there is a slip joint just above the point joint. This is held in place with a trick stainless clamp. Very easy to take on and off.



It also runs very close to the body, so I can get the car nice and low

I also notice in Jims pic, that will help sealing of the factory downpipe. Good solid engine steady bars.

Even if you grind the clamp for the maniflow DP, if the engine isnt securely mounted to stop it rocking back and forward, eventually it can cause the it to leak, or indeed break..

Must say, that DP is a nice piece of work Jim.
