I think that would be a bad idea, you'd easily lose track of what was unf and what was metric

I've had lots of issues with the one of the diff plate bolts that hold the exhaust downpipe bracket, it might have been over torqued at some point but seems pretty easy to strip.

No because, by design, the helicoil tap is exactly the same pitch (TPI) as the original thread to minimise metal removal and make re-tapping the damaged thread easier.

The only real way to swap thread forms would be threaded inserts (with the original thread completely removed), not helicoils.

yep most times you'll use the same tread pitch as the other guys
say same TPI but larger OD threads ie 5/8 20 to 3/4 20

You drill 0.2-0.3mm above the original major diameter when helicoiling. There are no original threads left.

I wouldn't swap thread size especially not to metric. Future owners will curse you.

The SPi Minis are a crazy mix of metric and imperial threads around the engine bay*Clapping*

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I find it hard to believe you are struggling, but if you are, I can easily get some 5/16-18 and ship them at cost...
