Because a Turbo Mini is otherwise so quiet yes?!!!

Just pulling your leg but yes tyres with that kind of pattern are usually noisier.

You always get a bit of noise from directional tyres. The quiet ones tend to be asymmetric with circumferential grooves

OK, sounds like A032's are the ones to go for then.

Roughly how many miles do you get from them, with *fairly sensible* driving?

I wouldn't bother with a032rs for 'fairly sensible' driving or commuting etc mate, they wear out pretty fast as they're so soft, maybe you could see if you get get them in a harder compound than the usual as i think they do hard, soft and super soft.
And, as daft as it sounds, other than on the strip where the cars being nailed to within an inch of it's life, the 145/70/10 falkens on Shaunas mini do a well enough job on the road, absolutely no complaints from the tyres, even if it would be nicer for slightly wider tyres to give better track grip.

Just make sure you get S Rated tyres if it's a road car.

I've missed a joke here right?! *Confused*

In all honesty, I'd rather change tyres a bit more frequently if they give me better grip in all road conditions.

I kind of see the point of view of "if it's not a track car, you don't need expensive tyres", but if it's a daily (all weather) car, then surely tyres are just as, if not more important. Especially as it may be putting twice the power and torque down than the standard 1275..

I'd get the A032's then when they wear out decide if you can live with them only lasting 5k or so a set. If so wonderful, if not try the alternatives. :)

Or you could just drive sensibly.. I don't see why you would be getting near the limits of a tyre on the road in the first place really..

It's not really about that. If the A032 is better in the wet than the A008 then they are the safer choice to go for!

If, like at the moment, you hit standing water on the road, and the A032's will guide you through it safely, but the A008's will aquaplane and spit you and your newly restored car into a ditch, then I'll go A032's!!
