Mine is about 3 feet away on the skyline im considering moving it closer
On the mini I had it less than 6 inch from turbine
Currently its about 8 inch

Imo hotter / closer is better so it doesnt have to rely on its own heater element too much

Do mind that what you measure is a compound of the whole lot. In an A series you might be measuring 1:13.5 but that could mean something like 12.5 ( okeyish) on the inners but 1:14.5 (melt-o-piston time) or something on the outer cylinders (making the numbers up for illustration purposes) .

A big IC helps a lot for the safety margin (and power).

People here can tell you what they run successfully at silly power without melting stuff. I do NA (what tf?!) that lives at 12.5
