Do you have a mechanical boost gauge fitted or are you relying on the MAP sensor?

What MAP sensor are you using?

Have you tested the MAP sensor goes full scale with pressure and vacuum?

The compressor housing is usually a bit higher pressure as all the pipework and intercooler after it create a slight pressure drop.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I'm using the pre-installed 3Bar MAP sensor on the MS3x and yes I am also using a mechanical boost gauge, however they are both tapped downstream of the throttle body.

I will try and tap the mechanical boost gauge upstream of the throttle body first thing.

With regards to modifications, what do you recommend ? Since I'm on a limited budget I should do the most vital things first and progress by time.

MAP and Boost should be taken from after the throttle as you have it.

Why not just get the boost right and use it as it is. After a few events you'll know where you need to spend your money.

Here'sa guide I wrote a few years ago to starting hillclimbing

Thanks Wil, I really appreciate your help guys. I'll have a read at this and also trybto solve the boost problem.

Another idea that springs to mind is that I may be losing too much exhaust flow from the the small AFR sampling pipes I have routing the inners and outers upstream of the turbine to downstream of the turbine chambers. I will try and blank them off for a moment and see if it makes a difference.
