Hi Guys,Ian here, The Phase 2 we always use 108 as stated on my web site this information comes from all our own engine building, also we DO NOT LIKE 1.5 rockers with any Turbo set up The Avonbar/Piper phase 2 is a very good all round cam as the results speak for them selves, also we do not impart duff info!!! or certainly try not to.Try these set ups without the 1.5's if you are using them, the overall drivability is so much better with std ratio rockers all our GP/Modsports/Hillclimb race engines are running 1.3's

i second that t3tone gained torque at the bottom as lost nothing at the top on his 1380 turbo when going from 1.5 to 1.3 rockers

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

I did gain peak power, lost nothing in the midrange, but did lose a lot of drivability after fitting 1.5's...

I reckon it's probably a good cam for road use, depending on the size of valves you use, you see these silly heads 37/29 which in my estimation doesn't have a big enough exhaust flow, I suppose you could buy one and the cam would give you a pseudo bigger valve. You'd have to look at where the inlet closes as that is the crux of the matter.

I was looking at the timing figures and having a think about the whole thing, my blue one is currently running a 1380 with a 270 Piper cam which is 276/276 (more exhaust lift IIRC) and thinking about how it compared to a Kent 276 which is asymmetric by about 10 degrees. I reckon that the added exhaust duration works better with N/A heads, allthough that is a personal hunch. I would not fit the blower to that engine as I don't think the timings are right relative to the amount of overlap. When I hear of people fitting 276/286 cams to blown engines, they rightly do develop a massive amount of power but I reckon it would be better optimised by having about 20 degrees extra on the exhaust (relative to a decent fast road cam lifts). I reckon that the Ph 2 cam is about as good as it gets for a blown motor. The MG cam being the next best option. (252/268). I'm currently running an MG cam in the other engine (which shat itself) and on rebuild will be running a PH2. Will compare my hill times to see what the difference is.
Stu

Bugger off, I'm getting there.
