Haha, know your getting old when you prefer the slower car with big seats and aircon.

I think most people on this site with a TM would beat my chipped cupra!! It's not a hard thing to do, it weighs the same as my house. *wink*

The cupras not a really quick car, but it's pokey enough. But it has the added charm of enabling me to go to retail parks without people thinking i'm going to break in to a fat burnout.

Anyways, enjoy the nova. :)

First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

i had a drunken £5000 bet with a twat that my car is quicker than his cupra over the 1/4mile

he was so confident that he would be quicker, but he never rang me to go and find out

is this your tm? and was it a leon or a ibiza.

obviously depends on spec and driver, but a chipped leon should hit early 15s _maybe_ late 14s. I'll post times when i finally get my arse to the pod, but i'm a shite driver so it won't be a true representation.

So if you've got a sub 15.5 mini, there's a good chance you'd dust a cupra

Huh?

I was making a point about how this is a forum for Turbocharged minis.
It is not for cinquicento's
It is not for saxo's
It is not for RS turbo's
It is not for R5GT's
It is not for Cosworths
It is not for etc, etc, etc.

As an example. Tom Fenton off this very site has a very rapid modified Pug205 which he primarilly uses on the track. Without a doubt, this would pizz all over the majority of minis from this site, let alone 99.99999% of novas, corsas whatever.
Tom also likes his Pugs as 'normal' transportation; he has one as his daily driver I believe.

What you will notice (and everyone else for that matter) is that Tom DOESN'T feel the need to mention his 205 on a regular basis - reminding us all how great it is. In fact - I doubt you'll find him mentioning it all unless asked.

Why - Probably because it has naff-all to do with Minis.

Another Example; AlexB, this site's owner.
A huge VW fan - take a look at his sig and you'll see something special - but that's all you'll see or hear unless someone asks him a specific question about it.

Now sure - we're all petrol heads - and if you or anyone bought (for example) a ford Escort and re-engineered it to take a subaru drivetrain - now that is somethign we'd be interested in. Another exaple - http://www.spagweb.com/v8mini/
See - something different again, something that any petrolhead might want to take a look at.

If we want to see novas, corsas, saxo's, imprezzas with 20" alloys and a 'chip' we just have to buy MAX POWER. It's all been done before - it's nothing new.
The other thing we can do is enter 'saxo forum' into google and 'hey presto':

www.saxosportsclub.com/forum/ SEURLF/ASP/SFS/USERID.95/SFE/profile.htm
www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/f131/
pub39.bravenet.com/forum/3322150964
www.forum-auto.com/sqlforum/section14/debut.htm
www.tintdude.com/forum/ lofiversion/index.php/t20814.html

There you go - plenty of like-minded individuals. On those site's you'll find a similar attitude to this (after you've separated the wheat from the Chav) - but log-on and talk about nothing else other than a different marque all day long, and you'll soon be unwelcome.

I'm not being funny, or singling out anyone in particular here - I'm just pointing out the Bleedin obvious.

Whether my track car is quick enough to beat the quick turbo minis I wouldn't like to say, JF is the only man that has driven both so I'll leave it up to him to comment.

However, Dave's point is 100% spot on. In actual fact I have 3 Peugeots and a Citroen, total power of them all is 570bhp. However, I don't talk about them on here, as no-one is really interested. If I want to talk Peugeot I regularly log on to www.psooc.co.uk, a forum full of Peugeot nuts. In the same way, I don't go on there and talk about my Mini project; I'm sure they wouldn't be interested in that.

Somewhere around Swindon

while we are on the subject of other motors
i was at argoose earlier in the week buying some plates, just parked in the carpark when a gren vtec crx puls up next to me (im in lisa's corrado) its a guy i havent seen in like 4-5 years , he says nice car then starts telling me all about how fast his crx is without me even saying a word! i tryed to avoide him in argoose but apart from telling him to shut the fcuk up he wouldent shut up about his 230 brake crx i pointed out there 160 brake but he reconds its had a larger throttle body so i tell him i bashed one at usc even though i lost comression in a cylinder, still he went on about how the supercharger hes getting and he will beat everything there thats a 1.6 or under, i just laughed

right moral of the story is we dont give a fcuk lmao
