That is mahoosive!

I have to say that I have to say that not all police are bad guys:

I was belting home in the scoob from Cardiff at midnight on my way back from faithless, nobody about, so i thought I'd pick the pace up a touch.

I was 'making good progress' when I noticed that there was a car next to me...saw the checkers...looked at my speedo - bugger.*surprised*

He cut me up and slowed me down to 65 for while then peeled off at the next slip road, where the was another car on the bridge!

Phew, saved my arse, must have been a scooby owner i think!

Also blitz'd past a police volvo on full chat in the dark up the A38 on the turbo mini, S/C's screaming, dumpvalve hissing! It was dark as no lights on that strech. I pulled into a garage, and they rolled to a stop and just looked at me with bewilded faces!

*blush*

Hannibal: There are two ways we can do this: the easy way and the hard way. In a few minutes my friends and I are going to come down on you like your worst nightmare. You're gonna wish the Earth had opened up and swallowed you whole.
bad guy: What's the easy way?
Hannibal: That WAS the easy way.

ok i looked at the ones on the cars and they are exactly the same bloody huge (but thin) i have saddly made a cardboard template, using the dimensions above and the cooler will literally just fit, it will however take up all the front space from subframe to bonnet top.

good points...
1) keeps the dizzy dry
2) keeps the charge temp cool (i would hope)
3) inlet/outlet look like they are in the right position
----------------------------------------------------
Bad points
1) block will get no cold air to it
2) the inlet and outlet pipe diameter looks huge...will this cause lag ?
3) the whole thing could it be OTT ????

Will the dizzy even fit if you have an intercooler across the front of the front panel? I know that on my car it certainly wouldn't, I have a dizzy in there for now that I have used to get the engine started and running, until I install the mapped ignition.

I was one on my way home from work about 2 in the morning when a police car passed me in the opposite direction. looking in my mirrors I saw him turning round and following me. Bugger this I thought, I want to get home to bed. He was quite a way behind me still and I reckon he couldn't have had my plate.

I just happend to be at the start of a country road I knew very well, so I went for it.

They never did catch me up, quite exhilarating.

I've had the north wales chopper follow me from the A55 to my parents house down some great little roads. I was going pretty quick put probably never broke 70mph.

Looking at that picture again though, if you can get hold of these coolers cheap/free, it would be possible to un-pick the end tanks, and then cut the coolers in half ("cross" ways) and make two or maybe three coolers from one, and then fabricate suitable end tanks....

What about fitting them in serial with 10cm between. Then the Dizzy might poke out in the middle :)

Sounds like a plan :)

My intercooler used to fit in front of the dizzy (when I had a dizzy) had about 5mm clearance.

It's thicker than the volvo one pictured, but of course I have a fiberglass clubman front.
