I can't tell from the picture, but is your fuel pressure regulator a rising rate type that senses boost pressure? As this is the type required.

hi benjamin ,i,d like to say well done for having the determination to do so much work to get your project finished ,having done quite a rew one off turbo conversions,i wonder if i could help you a bit ,,with regard to the wastegate welded to the exhaust ,i think it may get a little bit too hot for the diaphram and spring inside the can to survive, remember that pipe will be red hot . also if you look at your pipes coming in from the 2 end cylinders ,they meet the central pipe at a right angle ,this will make a lot of heat and turbulence at this point ,and stall flow back to cyl 2 and 3 ,if you could get a little bit of a turn into the 2 end pipes before they get to the turbo so the flow is directed into the turbine it will be much better .best wishes robert

well this is manifold version I so ill see how it goes, im always making stuff so im sure ill make a manifold that out flows this one later on. Just trying to get it all sorted and on the car for now, not worried about a small hp loss at the moment.

i have plans , drawings that iv done for a much nicer flowing manifold for later on so that will be version II

milled the flanges on the manifold so they are 8mm think like the exhaust manifold, also should give me a little more room for the plenium*smiley*

i discovered the other week that turbos use a thinner black plastic plate between the manifold and plenum than nasp cars

which one are you using?
would this give you enough clearance?

im using the thin black plastic one , should just squeeze in now*smiley*

edit :> just fits in with thin plastic spacer and flanges milled to 8mm

i may bend the lip on the firewall just for a little clearence, as its just fouling on that

Hi Ben,

just another thought on your waste gate actuator, is it facing the rigth way, cause the diaphram will push the gate open and looking at it you have turned it around so does this mean the actuator will need to pull the gate open by the looks of it? or have you welded the lug on the other side of it so it will still push it open?

Respect to you, you decided what you were gonna do and just did it.

Good luck when you get it on the car.

still havent got it on the car as there was a slight change of plans.

ended up geting another 1098 motor and im going to rebuild it for the turbo as the motor in my car atm is a bit tired and a little smokey.

the new motor will be as follows:

1152cc with hypatec pistons
12g295 cooper head with unleaded valve seats
lightened rods
wedged and balanced crankshaft
lightened and balanced flywheel
re-13 turbo cam
isky cam followers
minispares belt drive timing kit

so far the cam and flywheel have been sorted , but shouldnt be too long for the whole engine to be build, cant wait though*smiley*
