Well i have removed the intercooler, dump valve and all the extra hose just got the turbo straight to the plenum now like standard.
What is the over boost valve? the actuator arm is still there!

Between the two halves of the plenum chamber there is a spring loaded poppet valve. As standard it is a plastic poppet seated by a spring, it cracks off at about 8psi.

If it is not there you will struggle to make any boost as all the air will piss out.

blimey you dont mess about thanks Tom, just had a look and it appears the previous owner removed it and bolted a washer and a rubber sealing washer in its place.
I think in the new year i'm going to have to do some serious investigation as the boost is going somewhere!
Thanks for the feedback and help everyone

how did you go? are you getting 1.4psi boost just free reving it? if so then that is all you will make as your turbo needs to be loaded up so to speak driving conditions, in say 2nd at 5k what is your reading? and where are you reading boost at? pick up point

179hp on 12psi 1293cc of pure A series

Im currently in the process of sorting it, my turbo is on the bench and plenum is in bits checking for leaks.
The 1.4 psi was on full load!
Will hopefully have positive results later this week.
