Grey is definitely that bad, although it sounds like it. My wife has no problems with it. marcel Chichak has written a good story about clutch setup, I believe you can find it at www.minispares.com and search for technical articles. The basic idea is that the spring should be flat once the clutch is assembled, if not most of the pedal effort goes to pressing the spring flat and NOT in releasing the clutch.

In my countryman I am using grey with the bespoken Metro setup - and it is much lighter to depress than the std. Mini clutch setup in my S with an orange diaphragma! Bimmer Twinky headed and turboed A-Series:

No im not trying to take vegards title just been using the search function! I want to do the clutch mod to my back plate as i am running a grey plate and a race rally plate and got some slip last time i was at the pod I was just wondering where the measurement is taken on the lugs as i have just measured mine and they are all around 34.3mm does this sound right?

No. Get a new measuring stick. They will not be 34.3mm, I guarantee it. On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

I got 1mm taken off each backplate lug to make up for the extra drive straps (3 at each point) and no slip with a grey and ap race-rally plate. Not sure if its common practise to use extra drive straps but this will effect clamping force! -MINI CLUBMAN 1380 TURBO- |
