anyone here in class a?

im running in that next year.

k headed 850 bored to 68mm.

As sprocket points out, class A was poorely represented this year, it used to be very popular. Current record stands at 14.7secs, this should be your aim.

14.7. Okay shouldent be too hard unless they change the rules.

if i have hoosiers cut would they count as slicks as technicly they are road logal or do they have be dot certified?

could it not be an idea that TM approaches BMC and says they will look after the racing/classes, and thus bring some expertise to the situation.. as BMC don't seem to know what they are doing?

leeds/wakefield.

tyres is a contentious subjest,

as most folk anly see what oither use and just follow,
on the subject of DOT marked or "E" marked,
there has in the past been a case where a fella used some Pirelli Corsa's [moulded treaded tyre,] looks like a slick but are manufactured or rather moulded with the few grooves already in them,
now at the time of this case the law stated only minimum tread depth on a tyre, and as this was a moulded tyre was technically road legal , as he proved that although they were not E marked , neither was most tyres coming into the country form the eastern block , but these tyres were in every day use on private hire cars because they were so cheap, the mags at the time accepted his argunments,

cut slicks are are just that , a slick , which is not for highway use, but had the grooves cut into them, although if you were to cut plenty grooves in them and scrub the sidewalls of any descriminating marking you may get away with it,

possibly coppying a more common tread pattern, you would still benefit from the soft compounds,

there are lots of moulded tyres from hoosier,
apparently the "dirt stocker" is the one to use, as its available in sizes we could use.

ther are lots of ways to get around the tyre issue,

how much do you want to spend and how good a debater are you when it come time to argue your corner,

i dont have much of the former but plenty of the latter, lol

i think i might be sneeky and try that, if i get found out then ill move class and not be comptertive.

feels really sneeky but i guess its not really a road car much like the don.

h tread pattern will go on 13x7`s.

so 13x7 super lights on the front.

10x 3.5 on the back at 50odd psi.

Youre not within the rules of a road legal class if you use slicks, whether they are cut or not

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

how about ao48r`s? how do they stand up for traction?

but to be honest if ive only got to beat 15 seconds i should be okay.

obviosly i wont be much faster then that. but i should be able to hold some of the hybrids off.

I seriously doubt it!

to be honest you will never stop the cheats/people who are pushing the rules. some will hide the Nos bottle, some will enter A class with a 1380, enter c class with a carbon fibre shell etc etc etc. the BMC cannot strip peoples cars to check for cheats and there are no real rules to the classes.

the event is ment as a bit of fun, you put yourself in the class you feel suites you best and thats it. if your car is bending the rules then you are only cheating those around you and if you win a cup and are sad enough to collect it then it's a hollow win.

No, as long as it started off as a steel shell and the majority of it is still steel.

Looking at that, class D clearly states forced induction, and the operative word 'eg' ( for example) turbo, supercharged

that statement to me is not closed, meaning there are other examples??

I'm thinking about fitting a leaf blower as in the U-Tube vid.
