Shane , il be honest i hate reading your thread.

As soon as you seam to be making progress you end up going backwards.

Am sure theres a saying like all will come good in the end!!

Hope so mate and good luck.

Indeed, but nothing has changed from last time, so the likly hood of it happening again is high, unless I can pinpoint the cause before it happens?
EEK!

Very well done on your rapid progress, please let this one be ok!!!!
Have you checked the crank pulley timing marks with piston at a true TDC, they can be a little bit out.

Bloody hell another quick turnaround, i hate tho think what would happen if you and Jim teamed up!

the only advice/thoughts i can offer is,

I hope you bolted the crank pully down nice and tight, I know theres not a whole load of thread engagement on the std bolt, maybe some locktite? also I seem to remember a cut down flywheel bolt will fit and give beter engagement.

Tonys thought on checking the TDC marks is a good one, check the marks are really TDC and check jolt is reading right. my thread on putting mark on the flywheel might help?

http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=291663

and I'd maybe consider pulling some advance out of the map just in case.

Have you looked at hooking the WB into the megajolt and logging it? I know i dont get time to look at mine when bury the pedal lol.

Also when you run it in, use short squrts, dont cane the tits off it, unless your going straight on the rollers of course.

Good luck mate,

Given the previous failures I would definitely be taking 5 degrees out of the whole map. It will run well enough at that to run it in.

also you might want to consider altering your kpa bins as your top one is 180, about 12psi?
so above 12psi the timing will stay the same.

heres my current map.

Right then, update time.
Firstly, yes I checked the timing marks in relation to tdc and it is correct
Have checked the MJ is reading correct, have checked timing as rpm increases and it advances correctly.
Checked fuel pressure, at idle the gague was hunting around 1.5 psi around the 4 I wanted. Fitted a new diaphram, cured.
Wide band is not connected into mj for logging, as Im not sure I can, ut have been keeping a watchfull eye while driving. The read out is in the region of 11.3 to 1 while on general driving and drops to low 11's / high 10's when on boost. But it does lean out when poodling around town when engine is very light throttle / labouring. Also the gauge was jumping rich and lean on part throttle, Ive temporelory (sp) blocked off the part throttle lean off which has seemed to calm it down. Not sur if this was the correct thing to do?
Thermocouples are fitted either side of the IC have seen 39oC on the turbo side then around 27oC on the plenum side, when on boost.
Ive made a small inpection lamp out of a dash lamp attached to a brazing rod to insert in the spark plug hole. With this I have managed to regually check what the pistons edges look like, and so far it all looks good.
With regard to the map, 5 degrees have been removed across the whole map, and boost reduced. Have not adjusted the load bins as am very unsure whats best to do.
So far have racked up 200 miles with the only hitch being an alternator bolt comming astray and trying to exit through the rad, but luckilly the fan surrended a blade to save the rad.
Cheers
