Did the road testing this weekend.

This is the map we ended up with.

It was all done on the road with a bit of help from my eldest lad.

An empty A14 was ideal. Ran at fixed speeds and adjusted the timing to give the best vacuum.

Advance at 100KPa (wot) was mainly done by seat of the pants feel.

We've done about 50 miles on the MS now with no problems, except the advance hose burnt through on the exhaust at one point. At least it was obvious what had happened because the vacuum reading stuck at 100KPa.

Excellent work.

I've contacted Bill myself for a very similar system, its encouraging that you had very little problems.

Best of luck with the future development.

It Runs!

Well just. Finished fitting all the hardware this afternoon.

Turned the key and it fired into life, very lumpy and soon died, but considering that I've not set the ECU up properly yet, very encouraging.

I'll put the laptop on it tomorrow and hopefully sort it.

It wont run properly with the standard MS2/extra code, but it will test things out.

Thanks guys.

Well, after a bit of tweaking got it running sweet, except that it will not idle below 2800rpm !

I've got some air leaks at the manifold/head joint causing the high idle, so I'm going to take it off and mill the flanges.

Still need to do some major work on the fuel map, but even at the fast idle the two widebands are closer than with the carburetor at 11.5 inners and 12.5 outers.

Did you know that there is no need to mill the flanges if you do all the manifold bolts up tight :$

I blame Nic.

Anyway, apart from a couple of issues with the IACV not closing fully and the throttle body bypassing too much at minimum setting, I can now get it to idle at 900 rpm.

But it involves Axel blocking two holes with his fingers - here we go again!

The AFRs are way out at idle, 16 outers and 11 inners.

I'm going to start a new thread to detail the development and converting to the siamesed code.

perhaps youve caught Nics balljoint syndrome...

I'm hoping that my turbo manifold will pull up ok as its not 100% flat.
