That really is the point though, if you can't be bothered to spell properly and use English grammer with a QWERTY keyboard in front of you, don't expect an intelligent response. Post on the Chav forums instead.

I stand by my 'grumpy old man' statement that Brought does not mean or sound the same as Bought. However, this perticular mistake is so deep into the (ill)educated society that it would appear that Brought also now has a definition which means to have purchased something.

spelling mistakes, fair enough, but there are too many people using Brought instead of bought for it just to be a spelling mistake.

They're the same people who say 'Bought' when they mean 'Brought', presumably. What really annoys me is 'should of' when they mean 'should have'. That's just pig ignorant.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Excuse my ignorance , and lazyness for not doing the research , what is Qwerty and what does different keyboards have to do with spelling/grammer ?

Look at the top row of letters on your keyboard - the first 6 spell QWERTY - this has become known as the QWERTY keyboard. Some countries have a different keyboard layout. Therefore, if you were used to a QWERTY keyboard, but were using a different layout, you would likely make more mistakes than you normally would.

To the OP: If bad grammar and poor spelling annoys you, what the hell do you do if something actualy annoying happens to you? Bite your own face off?

I'm all for good written English but I always give a pinch of salt first with anybody.

Could I just introduce the phenomenon that is:

'off of'

However - the mispelling of 'the' is very common and is not really a spelling mistake but more a result of poor typing skills (and being too lazy to check the typing). Something to do with motor skills and the fact that the body can operate two fingers on one hand faster than it can operate a finger on the opposite hand.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.
