Bit more progress, made the front hatch to save dragging the chain across the nicely painted new roof



Finally got the steering linkage sorted (well 99%)



most important bit the dash:



been putting off doing it for weeks as i needed to make it out of marine ply, but its £90 a sheet, ended up biting the bullet, then 2 days later got give loads! standard!



finally starting to resemble a half decent tub!



Switches and controls all mounted, just needs the witing doing now!

Might take her out for some sea trials this weekend if the sun comes out!

Well made a trickle more progress yesterday, i tackled the electrics, and the old man helps with the antifoul:

Took ages to cut/shut the old mariner ignition panel as i didnt have a wiring diagram, and some pikey has replaced the cable with 7 core trailer wire some the colours didnt match end to end

ended up rewiring the cable at both ends so at least some of the colours now match



this panel cost me £90!!





does make life easier though! i wish car wiring was as easy as this.

I dont know what fuse to put in the + supply from the battery, at any one time I could be running a bilge pump, 60w spot light, nav lights, vhf, a fog horn, and a car stereo type affair, anyone know how much juice that might sup?

well, had its first 'sea trial' today, just went for a 10min spin around the bay to check everything is tip top

problems:

1. no reverse (think the remotes need adjusting) but will just get the guy i bought the engine from to come down and sort it as he promised it was ready to just 'bolt on' and no adjustments were needed.

2. steering is the wrong way, (which was fun to find out when almost having a head on with an oncoming yacht haha) need to swap the cable around on the helm

3. need to adjust the tilt on the engne, its lifting the nose out of the water too much so needs to come down a shade

4. no water came out the back of the engine on first start up, so guessed the impellor was past it, but then once the revs picked up it came out like a hose so i think its ok, prob was just priming, will keep an eye on it.

5. some cunt (i have a very good idea who it might be) has motored over my mooring lines and shredded then in 2 placed, only olding together by a few strands, lucky i spotted it really, if a rough blew up theres no way they would have held and the dream would have been blown onto the rocks. will go down and splice out the shreadded bit this arvo at low tide.


so nothing major i hope, the only real worry is it not going into reverse, it just chatters...hmmm
