fucking hyperload never worked...

did you have plummet ? the one where you had to run around the levels and collect strands of rope so the lift did not fall lmao ! i had track and field, treasure island, paperboy, le mans 24hr ahhh good times !!

I just finished off doing the bits i couldnt reach tonight. Theres a slight repair needed in the sill that reared its ugly face, however fingers crossed that the insides, underneath, and engine bay should be red this weekend. Then if im keen i will mask it all off ready to pop a coat of primer filler on the out side, and then get the red on next weekend

Ill then get the car back towards one piece and paint the front and doors at some point in the future

how much have you got to do matty? just dont rub it back too far or you'll be making extra work for yourself

ive got a proper thing, but it needs to the subframes on, and i really couldnt be bothered to put them on, and then have to repaint them afterwards

unfortunately my neighbours dog loves playing football, and whenever it could hear me in the garage it would come over to play, and then keep knocking the ball into the car when you tried to stop.
On sunday i lost my temper with him big style, luckily he was too quick for my boot, but i cut his ball in half with some scissors. I feel so guilty now, poor boy-but he can wait until the top coat is on before i buy him another

But yours actually seems to be getting somewhere, as for mine......doesn't seem to be!

Another update

Ive been struggling for enthusiasm with it for some reason. So this weekend i finally managed to decorate my room (over 3.5 years after initially starting). I also spent the weekend searching for enthusiasm by lurking on internet forums. I now find myself lusting after a vw....

I got really annoyed by a great mk1 golf that was being built, it kept me up last night reading through 14 pages of progress, so much so that i had to turn off the computer at page 12, and then when i got to pg 14 this morning, he had given up and broken it for parts.

Anyway so this evening i went out to do some more.

I put another coat of primer inside the roof (as i ran out), and then had to go round cleaning the overspray from the stone chip off. The car was then fully etch primed and stone chipped.

I really should see about getting my proper camera sorted out

In a fit of enthusiasm i cracked open the paint



And proceeded to have a test run of spraying 2k. It was my first time using it, and i was amazed how different it feels to paint with it, its much smoother coming out.



Taa daa!! This seems a much deeper red than last time, though lets wait and see until it dries. Last time i remember it being a dynorod colour before it dried!!!
It appears that in my keen-ness i may have put it on a bit heavy and a couple of runs have appeared!! d'oh, ill rub these out and hopefully i wont do it again!

Hopefully there will be more updates wed night

Ah I only wish I had the room to do my own welding/painting etc. That's a nice clean slate rebuild.

Awesome job! I wish i could have spent that much time doin mine....28 days from buyin a 1275 cooper to it being out of the paint shop i'd fitted a kevlar 2 piece front inc a panels, 6x12 superstars (the first set to be sent out ) plus debumperin, arches etc etc. But it had to be done befo i started my new job so couldn't take time to do underneath or engine bay/inside :( Wish i had now cos urs looks awesome!

Looks really good Nic, making a fair bit of progress in such a short time!

When are you daring to put the topcoat on? :)

i was originally hoping last monday, then last weekend. The weather for this weekend doesnt look so good, so hopefully next weekend, but i need to do the inside, underneath, inner arches, and im going to put some primer filler over the outside too

though ill probably do the doors, and front end some time after that

i just would like to get it back in one lump
