What the ear plugs? But they'd be a 2g penalty surely?

yeah the exhaust isnt ideal, its just blowing a little on the bastad join between the elbow and the downpipe. its just made worse inside now by the bonnet being closed fully and the air pipe into the car for the heater being removed but me not getting round to blocking up the hole into the car!

i definitely think i need to invest in some ear plugs, especially if i take it down on the riveara run again next year - my ears are usually ringing for a couple of days afterwards!

Ah I see you've changed your name!! It was begining to get confusing..lol

TBH I haven't noticed tooooo much difference after taking most things out of my interior. I swear the centre console makes loads of diffference to deadening the gearbox noise!

Its amazing how much difference it makes to the sound of the turbo.

I like nice quiet girly Minis

Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

I can confirm that Rob is a fraile streak off p155 that I am constantly worried might disappear in a mild breeze.

Really worring thing is together we make two average adults .... :(

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

OK a bit of an update on my thread from last year where i was trying to lose some weight of the car for MITP.

a few people saw the car last weekend at the riviera run but for those that didnt i have been out and taken some photos of what the car looks like now.

i'd just like to say a massive thank you to Nic for all his time, effort and expertise in getting the mini back all one colour and looking the best it ever has done. you helped me out no end and i hope the pic of matty's sister goes some way to saying thanks! (haha sorry matt! *laughing* )

other than the paint work the only other mods since the last update is the loss of the heater (4kg without the additional water loss) and a little jap alternator from matt (2.5kg instead of the 4kg of the original).
next plans before avon park are to change the intercooler to one that fits abit better and to lose the brake servo to save a few extra kgs.

thanks for the comments guys!
yeah i tried putting abit more boost through it yesterday and the clutch started slipping... grrrrr
ive also got an oil leak that looks suspiciously like it may be coming from the crank seal so that would explain the slippage.
oh well, have got a couple of months before avon to sort it *smiley*

Mine is around 460kg now.

That is a very nice looking car. Keep going on the weight loss, its incredible how much you can actually lose.

its a 1293 using a few nice bits like omega pistons, t3 from a series one RS turbo using metro manifolds etc, standard-ish head just with big chambers, Lancia intercooler, SC box and drops. last time i had it on the rollers it made 157 nana's on 12psi. so not quite up there with the likes of nic at the moment but certainly enough to make it a lot of fun! once i get my new intercooler and clutch sorted i should be able to run abit more boost and see what it will do this year at avon!
