I bet the one in black and the one in 'leppard print' don't even bother wearing anything down below..not as if it would cover up much! *laughing*

I think that that is the best idea, don't forget to post a link to the auction here.

I still can't work out what this engine is worth. As we all know the engine was nothing special really, but it is new and would be ideal for someone wanting a standard engine.

At a guess I would think that you could build something very similar for less than 2k with all new/reconned bits. But this does seem a lot of money (especially considering you could buy lots of very good cars for this amount of cash). But if Ebay is true to form I'd expect it to easily exceed £1500.

I'd say 1500 is an achievable price for this - note the use of the word achievable, which is different to realistic, fair, good, etc).

This isn't a likelly good site for it however, - as it's full of modders...

However - this is a complete, zero miles, factory built engine (claimed).

That makes it worth a fair chunk of money to someone who wants a moderately peppy mini. Ebay is your best advert for selling. Put better pics on the auction than the ones on here (ie any pictures) and a good description, maybe even linking to TurboPhils site as a 'installation guide'...

Stick it on ebay, make sure its red though and clean. The price will keep on rising. Red engines seem to do well on ebay.lol

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Also, is tha the correct rocker cover? I thought all MG metro engines (even the NA) had alloy ones?

I don't think I'd trust just dropping it straight in. Looks like it needs a good strip down looking at all that surface rust, the bores could be the same! *surprised*

Black sooty deposits???? your seeing things mate!!

The engine has never been run it might not be the cleanest but it was in a guy's garage for the best part of 7 years!! not covered or anything so it's not going to be shiny

Rocker cover is what was on it when i got it but yes it should be a chrome one.

The engine is what it is, i'm not trying to con anyone or anythign it is an unused turbo engine

455bhp per ton
12 sec 1/4 mile road legal mini

Sunny Bridgend, South Wales

That would need a full strip down IMO. May have been different if it had been stored with spark plugs and oil in it.
