Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Mine had the dodgy idle but was one of the few without a leaky sunroof!

people open them to fast and it damages the seal as they create a vacuum on the seal.

I managed to get a full stainless system for about £40 off ebay and it didnt half sound nice.

I prefered to footing of the 1.9 wheels as well that i ended up fitting later on.

here's a pic of my old one, it was mint and just had a engine rebuild - £700! and yes underneath the arches still had the red paint and was clean!:

SNAP!

The leaking sunroof is usually the two bolts through the handle. Prise out two plastic covers from inside the car, use a torx screwdriver to undo the screws from the alloy bosses. Pull the handle off and push the bosses upwards through the glass. Then get new fibre washers to go under the head of the bosses, and a bit of clear silicone for good measure, and reassemble. Whilst you are there it is worth re-sealing the aerial base to the roof as these can sometimes leak too. Its easy to get at, just pop out the interior light, undo 4 screws and pull the little overhead console down, you can then get a spanner on the aerial. Again just seal it to the roof with a dab of silicone.
Idle is a bit more involved, speak to me about it.

Thanks gents, looking forward to getting stuck in to this now.

I'd put thought in to changing all the bushes and engine mounts as the ones on there look pretty tired. Also something is a little dodgy with the brakes, the brakes lock up way before the fronts.

For engine mounts buy an uprated kit from BBM, not that expensive and better than the standard soft as shite ones.
Wishbone bushes are best replaced with OE Peugeot ones, not that expensive as you can buy a kit that comes complete with all the bolts etc you will need.
It is also worth changing the rear beam rear mounting blocks, these are about £20 the pair.

Yes, correct. You may need to take the rear drums apart for a rebuild though.

Ric, get your mini finished and get some miles on it before the show season...it will be here before you know it!

Sounds like this new toy could be a distraction from getting the mini finished...lol

i know matt, just need to sort the wheel alignment and get some miles on it.

Tom, slightly chavvy question... Where is the best place to get a k&n style filter? I've seen various guides to making a pipe on 205drivers, but i don't want to butcher my standard pipes.

Try ebay mate, get a K&N one as the adaptor pipe is better, or a new one is not that dear. Noise can get a bit tiring on a long journey though.

Cheers nic, I'll let you know at the weekend. Ideally I want to keep hold of everything i need to put it back to standard as everything else is original and unmolested.
