Fastest A Series Mini in the World

leeds/wakefield.

Ok, lets do the calcs,

the "fibreglass boot bung thing ",
is 900 mm long, it rises, 100mm,
now according to my maths,[ my daughters really],
that makes the avaerage rake over its length 6.3degs,

and according to many authors on the subject it appears that 7.5' ish deg's is optimum, to avoid seperation of the high speed air from the surface of the diffuser,
now i confess the curve does make the angle slightly steaper at the rear, but the gentle curve is there to avoid contact with any suspension arms that might get in the way,

and as a bonus will fit my own car [twinnie] even clearing the lower rear diff bolts ,
got to be both extreamly funcyional and will add at least 30 hp in the pub,
and 50 hp when i get one in carbon fibre, lol

we must have gone to different thermodynamics classes I think,- and you are right the increasing curve radius will drop its efficiency - as does the short "rise" length - but you can't do much to that. I think you are under estimating its prowess - its worth at least 0.5sec from the quarter!!

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

I'm kidding about the time gained - but not the optimum angle for a diffuser.lol

Trailing arms = camber change with roll

semi trailing = toe change with roll - good for a bit of rear wheel steer ie pug 306.

Semi trailing will change both toe AND camber with roll...
