Would anybody be interested in a group buy on the KAD kits?

I have just had correspondence from them and they are willing to do a group buy.

5 kits = £173.40 including VAT
10 kits = £163.22 including VAT

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Just been reading the thread on TMF for the group buy. I'd be interested if we can get 10 people. £163.22 seems quite good to me when you consider how much time it would take to make brackets, buying UJ's etc...

Anyone else?

How do. You may be able to contact KAD about it but they are all being posted out this week as they were produced in a batch for 11 people and have all been paid for.

Yeah I thought that would be the case. Was going to possibly start a new list if there is enough people that want one and see what discount we can get?

I'm sure a man of your talents could easily make one.

The reason I went with the KAD one is that it comes with decent UJs, threaded bar with opposite thead, quick shift gear lever etc. Far less messing about.

I have been "toying" with the idea of an internal mounted shift using a RC car universal joint, spliced to an old Toyota gear shift

I would think these drive shafts would be strong enough.
Any R/C freaks out there have any experience with them?

hmm i dont think they would be big enough? they are good and strong as long as they are comparible in size to the shifter

yeah they are small, very small, the shaft in the pic is probably 2mm dia
i used to race rc cars all scales up to 1/5th 1/6th 10mm driveshafts 5/6 horse power the ujs imo on them are a consumable
on a shifter i would buy a proper uj or mod a steering uj just think the safety factor/strength built-in to the steering?

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

Thanks for the reply, they're out then.

Think I have a couple of Suzuki steering column UJs, but I'm trying to keep the weight down, so will go for a proper race spec one instead.

Warwick.

just going on another UJ suggestion, what about these? http://www.hopkinsfittings.co.uk/p0_5557/mt28f.html#detail there for house hold blinds, but im not sure if they will be strong enough or little tollerence but at least these are steel, they do a few other bore ones too
