I have to agree with Sprocket - the valve size is too small - just like these 8 porters that give '170' bhp!!!!

I'm not getting involved with this, but don't fall into the trap of bigger is better. I'm probably the only person on here who has flow tested a stock and ported stock valve size K head, I have the graphs to prove it, I also have data from a 2zz 190bhp Toyota head and a VHPD Rover K head all on the same graph from the same machine - you'll be surprised how well the ickle K flows, in so much that it spanks the Rover VHPD head on the inlet side! big holes do not mean big efficiency!

I've also mentioned several times on this forum and others that the KAD head will lose flow when its bolted on the block due to the valves sitting on the cylinder walls - unlike the K which will not lose flow due to the compact chamber, I'll have to make a nylon cylinder up and flow test both heads to prove this at some point

pls keep the consiparacy theorys and witches tales seperate from fact.

big valves - watch this space.

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

Wasnt there someone running a 1460 8 port with injection, with supposedly '200' bhp. Might have been with Nitrous though, can't remember off the top of my head.

spoke to Derek ( bright eyes owner ) at Gurston hillclimb at the weekend , he knows nothing of a 16v head on his mini or of sigma engineering building one , he is 5 port all the way having recently binned a 7 port for having no low down torque .

We keep falling into the trap of arguing over power figures. That's why we use 'bananas', then people can claim what they want.

If this thread has proved anything it is that random statements about someone with some engine and some power with no basis in fact or the real world are just a waste of everybodys time. I feel my life force fading as I type this.....AAAaaaarrrrr

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

So we have:

Bananas (theoretical BHP)
Curly wurlys (theoretical torques)
Balwins (flattering BHP)
Sigmas (unvalidated BHP)
