This next one i looooove

These are from last year (last september ish) they were the day before leaving for Poloshow for anyone intrested *wink*

And this is how the engine bay is now all hoses are connected *happy*

I've got all my hoses in but my clamps dont fit i bought 58mm to 63 mm clamps and the hose internal diameter is 60mm but with the alloy tube in its about 62mm overall then 3mm wall thickness its about 3/4mm too small even on full stretch *frown*

I've asked to send them back and i will hopefully pay soem extra cash and get bigger ones *happy*

Does it scrape at all?
And how did you flare out the wheelarches? What sort of hammer and dolly did you use?

Hi thanks for the comments everyone:

bigmini998 its getting painted nato green until i can afford a full respray in the original green, its a rare colour and only done for a short time so i would like to keep that small portion of originality hehe

T2clubby thanks, the bootlid is now red oxide as ive smoothed it (bar the handle/lock as i think that would be abit much.

Gary thanks *happy*

El Potter it doesent scrape no, it was sat on the bumpstops at the back as i drained all the fluid however its not on the avo coilovers as i mentioned before with adjustable damping so i can gte damping/height perfect.
I want it as low as possible yet no/minimal scrubbing.

The front damper mounts are getting seam welded and braced as much as possible ( will be part of the rollcage when i get around to it anyway) so then i can get front coilovers on and get it set up proplery.
The look im going for is euro... low wide and smooth *happy*

As for the arches i didnt use any dollies mate, i used a mallet, a round ended hammer, a claw hammer and some pliers haha! I dont think they have come out that bad tbh *tongue*

Cant be bothered saying much as I've been working on the newly aquired golf all day!

The hoses are all done with there relentless can mid setup and the wheel well has been replaced with an alloy sheet. done *happy*

My arch is finally done! satin'd up ready for the next 3 to be done and its nato respray.

Really apreciated thanks guys, Not long to the start up now, just the oil feed for the gauge and the turbo feed oh and the pressure switch and i can start her up.
Ive also got to sort out a fuel tank for the time being i will use a plastic red can and strap it down but i woudl like an alloy one eventually.

right ive got a few things im in need of, i will put a list here and one in the wanted/for sale section too:

Rear hub nuts both sides
Mini later spec drum retailer bolts/screws
alloy fuel tank
high spec fuel pump

Ive put the list here and not ordered for a shop as there only small bits so i cant see them realy making postage worth while when its £5+ *frown* So if anyone has them things and can donate/sell that would be greatly apreciated

Cheers

Well I've got my towing strap on finally, i couldnt decide where to put it but this panel is on the chassis leg so all is good *happy*
I've got abit more of my bonnet cut aswell, 3 more triangles to sand and a skim of filler and its done. I had to stop as the scraping from the file on the edges was horrible *think finger nails on a chalkboard *wink* *

And where the golf is, all 1 side prepped and primered *smiley* I also managed to get the locking nuts off! i didnt get a pic of the wheel but lets just say they are now bin fidder haha, they didnt last long with a industrial petrol grinder on them *happy*

Heres an unfinished pic of mine

I thought I was being original too but then saw someone with the same style cuts. I think it was Ian_W with 3 triangles on one side of the bonnet

I was a bit sceptical at first when I saw this project begin, but there's some good work going into this and now I can forsee a cool car emerging from the other end.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

They arent off any particular car mate, they are aftermarket wheels. i bought them from a mate of a mate in need of a refurb.

Im somewhat of a wheel whore but i have never seen another set of them! ive seen very similar wheels but never seen another set of these! *happy*

7x15 et. 11 *wink* They will be my show use only wheels with the 185/45/15 tyres and i will have a set of 13/14's with sticky yokos for track, sprint or what ever i enter *smiley*

Thanks
