Is there a silencer under the wing?

Yeah, there's a smallish silencer up in the wing, although it doesn't silence too much!!!

I didn't really put it on for MOT purposes to be honest - it was more for track use but its still too loud for the likes of Castle Combe I would imagine so will need a supertrapp I reckon.

OK, thanks. I just didn't know what function it served since I couldn't see any coolant hoses

MOT passed with flying colours this morning. Look out for the car at IMM/Mini 50 and then MITP the week after.

Good man. Now relax a bit .....

See you at the IMM.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

Cheers guys, yeah its really satisfying when a plan comes together!

Car now running just under a bar of boost - pulling nicely to 5100 rpm after a couple of hours on the road mapping today. Need to sort the map above this as its going mega rich, but should be able to iron that out before MITP.

A 5100 rpm limit is plenty with a 2.95 diff - at least I can get to Longbridge for IMM/Mini 50 in relative comfort.

Made it to IMM and back no trouble! Look out for me this weekend at MITP if you're there.

Very cool grille spacing idea, is that really nessesary for your front rad?

At the moment, sadly it is - I can't currently get the metro rad sitting any further back due to the standard starter motor and alternator. These are things which are to be looked at over time.

Your project is looking great! My dad recently bought a proton and he was looking on the forum, and showed me your mini in the "other projects" section on there. How does the oil feed and drain work then with the turbo upside down?

The core of the turbo is rotated 180 degrees so the oil feed is still at the top and the oil drain at the bottom.

More plans afoot here - I need more adequate charge cooling, so the radiator is going under the boot floor and a much bigger intercooler will takes its place behind the grille, or instead of a grille, or however I feel like doing it when the time comes!
