You don't need your rear subby at all how about a beam & this(doesn't look pretty in these pics)

Rust is a good way of losing weight from the motor!

Yes Rick I know!

However I spent a couple of hours under Stefan's car on Saturday and it did not dawn on me that he did not need the rear subby as he has coilovers!

true indeed, But many people have said to me that beams are not as rigid as a subframe thus give you some flex in the corners? I've been looking at the tdkracing ones, they weigh 5.5 kg, but i reckon i could get my subframe close to 10kg, my exhaust mounts to my subframe too? but that does weigh quite a lot, i might change that for a single bike exhaust nice and light. will it restrict power?

Just be careful you don't have noise issues as a result! If you have got coilovers you might as well go straight to a beam - exhausts no problem just bolt so other mounts straight to boot floor

So do I! - I'll have to look and see but there must be a bit of metal left near rear panel but no issues in 12 seasons use with it pulling thru!

I reckon i'm going to keep the subframes this year and get the hole saw and grinder out on them, loose a nitrous tank and see if there are any more weight savings to have. I'm thinking seat brackets etc etc........
