thanks for the offer robert, i might give you a shout if the current plan falls through. what size valves does it need out of interest?

I know to a complete short engine built to the same spec as mine but with forged pistons sat gathering dust that i've asked to borrow for a couple of weeks on the "i break it i've bought it" rule *wink*

Mini hasn't been touched since I took the box to bits!

Just rebuilt my old R5GTT. Inner sill, outer sill, both rear bumper mounts, arch repairs, rear 1/4 repairs. I thought minis were bad!

Also had to weld a new jacking point to my daily 5 for it's MOT

Have a new gearset and bearings for the mini along with a good pile of new parts to fit. Also needs tuning and a wash :)

I also have a bare shell. Just needs the welding doing, and a cage building and... well, everything really.
Engine should be done for MITP though! *happy*

Why is it that the last 2% is such an up-hill struggle?

Within touching distance of getting the Miglia running, but still lots of jobs to do.

Enthusiam has dropped to near zero.

I don't know what this "project completion" thing is everyone keeps talking about.

At the moment we have six minis, three mokes, a Golf, a Porsche 928S, a Goggomobil coupe and a Suzuki Swift Gti. Only 3 cars are currently running, and ALL of them need work.

Mines been running for a week now. MOT runs out at weekend but should go through no problems.
Have to rebuild smokey turbo ( I did stem seals but it was wishful thinking)
And find out what really is making that noise that sounds a bit like a CV joint but a bit different and not only when turning corners but only under load.
I might not have enough money to go to Avon *frown*
She pulls like a train now though I didn't have enough money to finish megajolt or an intercooler, what I have done is taken my time with everything to make sure it's right.

Stoke-on-Trent. Duck.

Thought I'd posted on this when it first went up, evidently not.

Any way! Jobs required to complete after 9½ years in the garage;

* Pick up Megajolt from a mate and wire it in.
* Pick up and "plumb in" non-verto clutch slave cyl. at the same time.
* Sort the bloody brakes out that won't bleed (suspect offside caliper)
* Breathe some life in to the "new" 1293 - Benross headed - bulletproof bottom end - Straight cut everything engine. Wish me luck!
* Calibrate tacho/ speedo
* Suspension set up + MOT :)

Sounds like a pot joint missing a ball to me. The sprint did this for a while.
