Its a bit dishartening to be honest, but on the bright side its a good excuse to build a better engine, and fit an lsd. ust need to work out how im gonna pay for it, and find the enthusiasm to do the postmortum.

one thing i learned many years ago from my dad, (long berore i started bulding engines) was never trust/rely on anyone to do somthing. (he was/is a fat useless unreliable bastard who is full of shit)

I always do anything myself if possible, even if it means learning how, sadly its suprising how often your own first effort is better than what you could source.

that said, i am abit concerned about the heavely dished powermax's i'm using, not heard of anyone else useing them for a blown lump, so they could go pop.

Yes sorry to hear that mate, did you get any figures on the first run???

Also don't rush out and get a diff, or make sure it's not a quaife ATB one, as they do very little IMO

Bad news on the engine. Just save some money for a bit and when you find the enthusiasm start to build a new lump. I wouldn't rush out to buy diff though a x pin is my than up to the job.

My diff has definitely changed the way my car drives though. Its a lot easier to stay in a straight line under hard acceleration. Not really tried it hooning round corners yet though!

I'd just bung a set of cast omega's in, that way there can be no questions about quality for not a lot more expense.

I ran machined 21253's on my car for 3000 miles.

I ran them at 18psi and they appeared to cope with it fine (i only changed because i had the chance to upgrade on the cheap and had money kicking around)

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

all the power the engine makes is above the pistons. megas are well proven Now! for failure in the land department.
its accralites or omegas in that order IMO... fit them forget them. as long as you dont run into detonation.

Bit ofa gutter!... Do a decent "post mortom" and see what the problem was, if the pistons are knackered hack saw them in half to see how much meat is left around the crown. The thinnest part will be the radius near the rings.

Build a better engine and learn from it..

shane i've done 30k miles on my 21253's and they haven't been easy miles either. they're still good so i'm just using them till i kill em.

i ran 10/15psi daily and 20psi on a few occasions and they've been spot on for the money.
