My 5 port head is still a mg metro type with the cumbustion chamber modded to lower the compression ratio. Nothing else that fancy about my engine and have managed to do 106mph traps. Not amaZing but not too shabby!
I don't know much about track cars but like you said surely chassis work will be your main aim!

Well here is an idea, why don't you try some of these weird and wonderful ideas you bombard us with, and then report back, rather than trying to look a clever by posting something you read somewhere?

Does that mean your not going to go racing with Endaf?

Im not sure why you suffered this? surely there was something wrong some where?

Paul Wigintons engine is highly speced and I dont think he suffered anywhere near the problems you say you had

Just curious to know

First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

If you can keep it cool enough and the oil temps sensible then its going to help with reliability. It may be worth looking into that sort of thing too.

But as a track car a high comp 16v n/a may well be better

Carl-im not planning on going above 20psi again this weekend

well for track use, would a spec similar to JF's race metro not provide enough oats for you rick?

it obvious gets him to the end of the race/season?

spec is easy peasy, high compression, fuckloads of boost, and methanol to increase the octane rating. nothing more nothing less. 2.0 bar@9.5:1 CR :) get it done ..:)

I ran 19.2 in a standard 998 clubman. I weigh 15 stone, so it's never going to get there quickly. The same car did 18.9 with my shorter lighter mate in it.

If you could, then maybe you should enter the 2012 Olympics.

You would have to get up to 50mph very quick and keep it up for the rest of the track.

Even Wiggo could not do that.

PS I thought we were mates *frown*

My late night maths were wrong, I was working on an average speed of 40 mph not 50, DOH, still if some one is willing to buy me a LOOK I'd be up for giving it a try.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

my car can still take more boost yet if you wanted *smiley*

I'd have to say mine must be pushing out about 200 on the boost i was running sunday afternoon.

it was 155 at 13psi, and i was running a bit more than that later on *happy*

So glad i took it to someone who knew what they were on with setting it up, the fueling was spot on even winding the boost up further. shows how good the Hiff44 really is.
