Well Done Nic caught you briefly in the fireup lane when you had just fitted the tripple gray good to see it helped.

Best time for myself was 12.12, was relearning the nitrous kit as i have improved it lots since last year and now needs retuning, the run after was a mid 12 with a well and trully missed third twice! so that would had been in the 11s if i sorted myself out, but dicided to call it quits after that, as I needed to get away at a sensible time and drive the car home.

I was quite disappointed with my times initially, but seeing other peoples times, perhaps it wasn't so bad.

Best 1/4 was 15.2 at 87 mph I think and best 60ft was 2.46. Thats 1293 Turbo injection 5 port, 16 PSi, Yoko A539's on 13" wheels with a 2.95 4 pin diff.

Car was pulling great through to 3rd gear, but once in 4th it just didn't seem to want to do anything. Upon checking the datalogs, my inlet temps were up above 50 degree's so that won't have helped - I think I've exceeded the efficiency limit of my intercooler! On the motorway it'll pull fine past 100mph in 4th, so it must have been caused by heat soak (of which I was getting lots!). Stupidly though, I only took my bonnet off for my last 2 runs, one of which was my fastest of the day.

Was great to meet more of you and put some more faces to names - got lots of good feedback from people on the car which was nice (people seem to like my £40 paint job!) and also got some great advice on how to tweak and set the car up better - big thanks to Robert and Paul for the hints!

Oh, and remind me never to accept any confectionary products from Nic again - especially when they're soaking in green liquid!!!

I was watching your car with interest coupe, if you can get it to pull cleanly it'll be a rocket :)

it looked like it could be ignition related, popping and such as if it had hit the rev limiter, also duping a black cloud out the back.

Yeah, I think I can get away with a lot more ignition advance yet, and probably less fuel - however, considering its only had about 6 hours work max on the map and that was just me driving and datalogging and then tweaking, I think it did pretty well.

Much more to come from this car though thats for sure - and once the map is all sorted and the car is running nicely, then the nitrous will come!

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

if it helps from saterday at avon:
60 2.15
1/8 th 8.4@92
1/4 12.70@115

according to the slip i was runnign full power, but didnt sufficently warm the tyres and pressures were too high.

nic give us all the numbers on your timing slip. accoring to my data logs my run towards the end of the day should have been a 12.4 if I didn't roll forward and break the beam before launching. This run was timed at 13.1 but had a 92mph at the 1.8th and a terminal of 115mph. I simply need more practice.

I was really impressed with Ian's runs. It seemed like he was constantly on the strip! Running some impressive times to.

Shame about the amount of casualties.

I'll hopefully have mine ready for the next one and join you on all the strip.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

60ft - 2.2799
330ft - 5.5626
1/8th ET - 8.2252
1/8th MPH - 93.30
1000 ET - 10.4373
1/4 ET - 12.4511

I did manage a 2.1584 60ft but missed a gear

Once I get a clutch sorted im sure the times will drop!

found my ticket ...

60ft---------2.306
330ft-------6.202
1/8th et ---9.202
1/8-------- 82.88 mph
1000ft-----11.675
1320ft------13.93

1/4 et 13.93
1/4 mph 102.82

this was the first time i used a switch to control high and low boost .... it made a big difference , i could switch to max at top of 2nd and have it all the way thruogh from there .
unfortunately ,to try to fix the clutch id used an old ap organic nic donated (thank you nic)and a different pair of springs that although thinner than what i was running ,appeared to be stronger on test .... anyrd up ,the o32 tyres i borrowed off nic (thank you nic2) and the boost switch sent it inot overload and at one point in 3rd i thought i was in neutral !
so with the slipping the 103 terminal in that 15 mph headwind was ok i suppose ,,and got home ok too so that was nice .
