Right. Well the valve is now with the welder and the 6" bit of tube to weld it to was purchased from Merlin along with an ITG sock for it to VTA through.
£70 to do the welding. Bit steep but got to get it done then taking it to Slarks on Wednesday evening anf fingers crossed, it will roar to life!! lol Then just got a minor problem of sorting the brake lines but thats not important!!

really liking this conversion, definitely thinking about mounting my eaton on the front of the 998 engine for the marcos, is slark going to produce a kit from this?

Jonny told me about 6 months ago that slark were going to be making a kit, but seeing as his car is the test bed for the kit, I wouldn't hold out any hope for it being released too soon, as once Jonnys car is running, it'll need to be setup and tested, to see just how well it all works before it can be sold in kit form!

Still, I think it looks excellent, and I'm planning to go take a look at it at Slark in the very near future!

Also, I wouldnt recomend the M45 for a 998.

You better pull your finger out then Nick as im hoping to get it back in the ultra ultra near future!!! lol
There is a plan for a kit and possible a supply and fit but not sure how soon it will be and as Nick said they will be waiting to see how mines gets on to judge whats the best way to do it.
im picking up the valve im having welded up today. Will get some pics on here as soon as i get it but might not be untill tomoorow depending on what time i collect it. Im then shipping it to slarks straight after work as all the post office people are huddled around barrels of burning back log letters so it should be fitted tomorrow!!! Everything crossed!!

Sadly nope. Im visiting my family of apes in Maidstone this weekend hence why i have to bomb it down to slarks tonight with the part! Plan to the following weekend though.
If you do pop down there on Sat, i would just check with Neil to make sure hes in as there is a new born Slark now and he may be dedicated at home!!

that looks very smart Jonny, I take it that's going to go in the same place as the T for your dump valve currently?

Right. Some advice needed please guys.

Meant to be picking the car up this Saturday. But there is a problem that we cant quite understand. There seems to be an issue with the card not reacting at the same time as the bypass valve opening and shutting. Its going on the rollers for the day on Saturday and just want to get it all ready. Can anyone help? Something to do with the it coming off idle. Any help or advice would be great.

Thanks

Where do you have placed it?

If it is too far from the carburetor, so there can be such kind of problems.

I'm not sure but that could be one possible problem...

Well I'm not sure because I use full ECU and I do not have carburetor... *surprised*

Is that the pipe that runs from the bypass valve into the inlet maniflold/carb area? Same as where the pipe runs from the D/V to the manifold/carb

***UPDATE***

Sadly, didnt get the car back on Saturday. Need to take a look at how we are mounting the blower as it is moving under load.

Anyway, at less than 5PSI it managed 123Lbs/Ft at 3100RPM. Which Neil seemed very impressed with. To me, i dont know what its all about aslong as its fast.
Even drove down the road and back and my face began to peel off!!

We also need to sort the PSI out. Less than 5PSI is pointless. I would like to get it upto 10 really. We have to also re do the pulley sizes at a guess. We are using the MPI pulley and standard pulley on the blower. So going to have to get a reduced size one for the blower but anyone know what size the crank pulley should be?

Any input would be great.

Thanks guys

I'm sure people will correct me if I'm wrong but that sound like some serious torque for 5psi!

I'm sure I've seen an RR printout for a turbo on 8psi only making 100lbs/ft

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Thats the thing. Certainly less than 5 PSI that i can assure you, sadly :(

He went through the entire computer showing me turbos he had and even showed me a 180BHP on that done 115 LBs/ft

He was very suprised.

On the print out i have it reads 98.1hp @ 73MPH 123LBs/FT @3161

If that makes any sense!!

Only less than 5PSI???? *surprised* *surprised*

My first set up was same as yours now and i have more than 5PSI......

Now I have 19% pulley and standart mpi crank pulley.
It takes now 14,5PSI boost. But same time I got a lot of problem more!!!! *angry*

So the standard MPI pulley and 19% pulley got you upto 14psi? That was all that was needed?

There has to be something wrong here. 98bhp at 3100rpm will need a lot more boost than that. Looking at other graphs of turbo powered cars with similar bhp at 3k, they have over 3 times the boost.

The maths would suggest that the higher boost level is more realistic.
