Just to reitterate Tim, you are most welcome on this forum, but you did come across as a bit all knowing.

I would also argue that although matematically a larger the IC and associated pipework will affect lag, in reality it is insignificant in most applications.

Why not start a thread showing us your car, what you've done, any novel ideas, your thories into practice etc. Look at the results of the recent RR day we had to see what levels of performance some have all achieved. In many cases I suspect that the builders have only a small understanding of fluid dynamics.

This thread got interesting over night!
All i can say is i dont have a clue what fluid dynamics are why would you want water in your manifold *tongue* As for the the Lcb manifold give it a try its got two chances! It can always be swapped for the metro manifold which is known to work!

the 90 degree bends, while not ideal wont affect the burn in teh combustion chamber, i would LOVE to see how you draw this conclusion.. personally dont see an issue with that build given the packaging constraints.

I do have issue with people calling other peoples hard work (which lets not forget is functional while not pretty ) "no shit tha mini turbo in the mag is wank i hate the hole thing" followed by some armchair expert nonsence and a severe lack of real world tests and data to back it up.

I studied thermodynamics and fluid mechnics too , my car is a very very long way from any kind of ideals of fluid flow but puts down the numbers. If i pisted a picture of the inside of my manifold i bet a few people would faint at the sight of my lack of transitions from round to oval sections as gasses exit the ports, turbulance central, not what you need when entering a turbine.. but it works.

if your going to be so rude about someone elses work, show us yours?

^^^^ well said, i don't know anything about fluid mechanics lol but no need to slag off someones hard work to that extent.

Fluid Dynamics? is that like beer going in one end and coming out the other and when there is too high a flow of beer it comes out of both ends?

So does being "dyslexic" prevent you from using capital letters, full stops, commas and other associated punctuation?

I am so glad you come to this forum to "lend a hand"

no shit tha mini turbo in the mag is wank i hate the hole thing , i feel like saying the hole point of having a turbo is to make the engine have a compressible amount of air in the cylinder instead of just what the piston can pull in in a vacuum so why would you bother putting a turbo engine in then start restricting the air with those bends and adding extra pipe witch will just make the lag worse lol and it also makes the air turbulent on those bends witch will effect the way it starts to burn in the cylinder

but yea having a clutch mounted turbo is all well if you enjoy lag, you need to think about retarding the ignition to compensate for the extra space you are creating with the longer manifold plus here are a few things you may wona look at before you start putting that horribly welded thing on your engine

exhaust pulse;
flow in pipes;
raynold number;
boundry layers;
computational fluid dynamics;
incompressible fluid flow;
compressible fluid flow;
exhaust lengths :

all these things need to be taken into account before you will get any power out of it

you may wona look at acoustics to :)

I would advise a change of username as having your UN as your email address will probably net you a lot of spam.
