The GTM's front subframe is solidly mounted, as we don't have to worry about engine noise in the front of the car.

Arent mk 1s and 2s solid mounted subframes? My mk1 is solid mounted, just bolts through the body and onto the subframe, no rubber anywhere. And the engine is still rubber mounted if you care about inside noise. In boost we trust |

yes, but they dont transmit engine vibration through the steering wheel.

Robbing the bits of a metro subframe looks ot be fairly straight forward. I might take them of when I get round to doing a scrap run.
