i have one more to add

a fiat sceicento 1.1 sporting

now the engine on the one my sister had was brilliant, & most fiats i've been in have pretty good engines

but the dash/switchs/bui;d quality/parts prices are absoluely SHIT!

they drive ok, quite close to our classic minis handling but the 1.1is quite a perky number but the gear linkage is a bit of a long throw,

just build quality of the fiat interiour/exteriour components is really crap, rubbish plastics, they should be called fiat halfords-car-acessorie!

SKYLINES ARE LIKE CLITS, EVERY FLANGE SEEMS TO HAVE ONE: see this sticker on my silvia

the Search-section on this forum is blummin superb & simple to use, unlike some other forums, without the search-section & the help of this bunch of chaps on here i'll never be able to !!!Start the day with a 998cc turbo!!! :) i'm getting closer though!

Mercedes 190 E belive it was a 2.6 litre engine mated to a 4 speed box and fuled by mecanical injection ( once you got the pile of SH*T going)

I got it as a part exchange ( it was cheep thank gosd as it took two years to shift) the first time i drove it it chucked a blade of the jam'd radiator fan through the bonnet, an TBH the tractor on my dad farm gives a better ride quality ( what are the seats made of WWII defece fensing bits of tank an hay??) it did about 13 mpg and stalld if trying to reach eny thing near 65 70 ish. the rear diff sounded like an old bently blowwer and changing gear gave all pasengers whiplash.

But i lernt one thing Mercedes in my vieuw the worst cars ever built an to this date refuse to work on them (mecanic by trade) i realy realy hate mecedes cars an truck for that matter park an ideling Volvo and mercedes truck next to each other have your self blindfolded an than listen to either the one that makes your ears bleed hevely is the mercedes.

Oh and try changing the sparkplugs on a smart car.......

Cheers, Andrew

friends fiat cinquicento, 900cc, sounds like a sewing machine, more roll and slower than a double decker bus, and you just feel like a complete dick driving it.

Drove a few 190's and the cosworth one, absolutely detest them, same goes for any merc i have driven of around that vintage, mechanical fuel injection, linkage rods for the throttle rather than a cable and a steering box over rack an pinion, give me a jag of similar age any day.

tbf though my dislike of mercedes extends to current models too, from a driveability and maintenance point of view.

shame, i always hankered after a nice 190e, there was a cossy one for sale for £1500 here on the island, but some barry had played with it and i gave it a miss

im not saying youre wrong, knoiw that merc parts are hella pricey, but if they are so bad then why does nearly every taxi driver in spain and portugal use them?

Fiat Grande Punto, 5 door 1.4 all the gadgets, heavy plus terrible engine=slow... the 1100 mini was quicker... got it was a heap.... hated it... even the Gf said it was shit and she doesnt even drive... we called it the seal car... we point and bark at ones we see while laughing and wondering why they bought it...

relaible and nice to drive are two very different things, they are good busses from the point of view you could probably drive around teh world twice without skipping a beat, but i really dont liek driving them, just a personal thing, plus a general dislike for mechanical fuel injection which has past its best, always wanderign out of tune, though easy enough to fix at the road side.

Worst car i've driven/owned has to be my old boggo 205. brakes were shocking, as was the handling and was constantly being overtaken by HGV's at the slightest hint of a gradient!!!
